Pay Per Post Whilst not logged in
Normally a user has to be logged in to make a purchase, however Your Members v1.7 and above supports the ability to purchase pages whilst not being logged in, but there are a few additional caveats to be aware of. Please note that Normal Pay Per Post (only functional whilst logged in) offers a far more flexible way of selling access to content.
- This only works with PayPal purchases
- No user account is created. If one with a matching email address is found in the WordPress user database, then the purchase is recorded against them, if not the content is emailed to them.
- It the user has a PayPal account that ISN’T an email address (very uncommon but possible), the content ISN’T emailed to them.
- You can not sell access to the page from within a page itself purchasable.
To enable the feature follow these simple steps.
- In your Your Members Admin Section, go to Settings under Other Settings and set “Allow a logged out user to purchase posts?” to YES
- Next head to Messages under Other Settings and modify the three sections under “Templates” that refer to [ym_all_ppp] to suit your needs. Note that by default, unless to edit these setting, you get two “Buy” buttons which may confuse some users.
- On the post or page you which to protect, encapsulate the content you wish to protect within [private] tags as per normal
- On the same page or post, Set “Is this post available to buy?” to YES and set a price and any other PPP options.
- Now on any other page or post (which isn’t itself purchasable) you can add [ym_all_ppp] to add details of all purchasable pages and links to buy them.
